I woke up one day in a world that was inundated with synthetic chemicals and mass-produced goods. Well, maybe I didn’t just wake up there...but even though I was aware of some of the concerns with the ingredients in these products, life often got in the way and at times I sacrificed quality for lower prices and convenience.
One day, I really did wake up though and I became determined to make a change. I began by seeking out recipes on the internet and experimenting with some DIY options. It was almost unbelievable to me how simple some of these items were to create. All those years I had thought running to the store every time I needed something was “convenient.” What I found was that things like laundry detergent, fabric softener, and lotions could be made at home.
Eventually I tried making my own bars of soap. I was a bit more nervous trying to create natural soaps because of the process that goes into it. Well, I did it and that was it; the journey began. There was something so deeply satisfying about returning to simplicity. There were different brand names for the items available at the store, but all had many ingredients I couldn’t even pronounce and knew nothing about. I finally felt like I had options in the products I was making. I was able to be in control of the choices I was making for myself, and life is so much better when we have options. So, I decided to start BeXellent Farms on a mission to share the natural products I produce with others.
The first products I am sharing are my handcrafted natural soaps and lotions. The ingredients we use in our products are the heart of our business. We carefully select each ingredient, sourcing oils, butters, and botanicals known for their beneficial properties. From moisturizing shea butter to soothing lavender essential oil, every component is chosen with your skin's health and happiness in mind. I have many other ideas for natural products that we will be introducing as we grow. It is always exciting to develop new products, so I hope you stay awhile so you are able to share in the excitement with us.
Our dedication to nature doesn't stop at the ingredients we use. We're passionate about sustainable practices, both in our soap making process and in the way we cultivate and select the plants that go into our products. We believe in working with, not against, the environment, which is why we strive to minimize our carbon footprint and reduce waste wherever possible.
One way we're doing this is by implementing eco-friendly packaging solutions, with the intention that your purchase is as gentle as possible on the planet as it is on your skin. We're also exploring new ways to reduce waste in our processes and are committed to continually improving our sustainability practices as we grow.
Another way we are doing this is by growing some of our own ingredients. This way we can ensure the highest quality and purity, while also minimizing our environmental impact. We follow organic growing practices, without pesticides and synthetic fertilizers in favor of natural alternatives that promote biodiversity and soil health. It's a labor of love that we're proud to undertake, knowing that it allows us to share with you the very best that nature has to offer. I hope to share some of these ideas with all of you and that you decide to implement some of them into your own lives. Then we can all enjoy the rewards in the simpler things that nature has to offer.
